'Highly recommended! I've known Dave for 15 years or so - we met studying jazz at the Conservatorium, and have played together in various contexts ever since. He was my first choice when I wanted to find a teacher for my son - he's relaxed and mellow, but very well informed, and my son's made great progress over the past 6 months.'
'Dave has been fantastic with my 9 year old- has really kept him interested and come up with creative and fun ways to introduce concepts like timing and volume. Absolutely recommend.'

Adult Guitar Ensemble
Playing music with other people is the most rewarding way to do it and this ensemble class will provide the perfect setting for the type of player that would like to add a fun social aspect to their playing. Engaging with fellow musicians will not only keep you motivated and accountable but will also accelerate your progress.
While the ensembles are not designed for absolute beginners, we cater to a range of skill levels. There's no need to feel intimidated! Whether you've been struggling to progress with online tutorials or you're a seasoned player looking for a new challenge, you'll find value here. The music selected for the ensemble is arranged to allow students of varying abilities to play the same piece together.

In the class, we will focus on:
- ensemble playing and listening
- sight reading (no prior experience with notated music is necessary)
- improvisational techniques
Both acoustic or electric guitars are welcome. If you're playing electric please bring a lead. Amps will be provided.
We currently run two adult ensembles on Monday evenings. Cost is $36 + GST per class.

Ensemble Class
Participating in an ensemble is crucial for students to enhance their rhythm, musicianship, listening skills, improvisation, and sight reading abilities. We strongly encourage our students to learn music notation, and ensemble playing offers the ideal opportunity to put those skills into practice. The combination of private lessons and ensemble participation forms the backbone of a robust music education, and we are thrilled to provide this option at Guide Tones.

The cost is $17 + GST per 45-minute class for students receiving private tuition from a Guide Tones tutor. For students not enrolled with a Guide Tones tutor, the fee is $25. This program runs for a 9-week term.
